Hello readers, I'm back to share the day's news and updates about technology, as well as my opinion; if you have any of your own, please share them in the comment section of this blog, where I'll be glad to see them on any individual topic you choose.
But first, if you haven't read my previous blog about the chrome extension, which I uploaded a long time ago, you can see the new tab by clicking here.
So let's start today with the best news and update with more energy because news is hand-picked from many, which makes you want to know more and more.
1. The iPhone 13 is the most sold phone in India.
Are you the proud owner of an iPhone 13? Do you own this phone since BBD or before? They are widely distributed throughout India at a low cost following Flipkart's BBD sale, and before that, it was Apple's latest smartphone, which was selling at its peak price.
I personally like the design of all iPhones, and overall, the whole industry follows and tries to copy its design. I don't know why they are doing that or why they don't make their own identity like Nothing Smartphones or Nubia, who are also making good products. So what are your thoughts on it? Which phone are you currently using? And are you planning to switch to a new smartphone in 2023? And if yes, which one? iPhone 14? or the pro model?
If you want to share your experience, then the comment box is open for all of you guys, so go there at the bottom of this blog and comment.
This is the first time an iPhone has led the sales chart in India, where consumers are price-conscious and dominated by low-cost handsets. In the same quarter last year, the top five selling smartphones were the Realme C11, Oppo A54, Galaxy M12, Redmi Note 10s, and Redmi 9A. They are all under the INR 15,000 price range.
Having said that, the fourth quarter of 2022 saw Apple iPhone 13 sales and discounts from e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, as well as offline retail locations. During the first few days of the Big Billion Days promotion, it was available for less than 50,000 on Flipkart. These promotions might have contributed to the higher sales of the iPhone 13.
And now that BBD has sold this iPhone 13 starting at INR 48000, I know that the iPhone is the most popular phone, but it will be the most popular smartphone in India; that was a shocking moment for me, isn't it? And if you bought this iPhone in BBD 2022, please comment your purchase price and any thoughts you have on this.
2. WhatsApp will allow the user to see the deleted message.
Do you use a third-party app to view deleted WhatsApp messages? And if yes, which one? I've used some third-party apps available in the Play Store that I'm not sure are safe or not because they aren't certified or not, but they were very useful if you were a group or an individual who was habitually deleting messages and became annoyed by it.
I'm not aware of that feature in the iPhone because, don't you think, iOS is known for its security? So they don't provide any apps like that, and if you know of any for iOS, please comment about it, because that will be new to us, and I believe that by sharing, we increase our knowledge.
If you have read my previous blog, then I described there that WhatsApp is updating its feature for deleting messages and will add some more features, but now they will add the "keep message" feature.
However, the company is currently aiming to provide consumers with more control over these vanishing messages. Messages are not automatically wiped from the chat when using the retained message option, and everyone in the conversation may still see them. Instead, users will have control over the dialogue and will be able to "un-keep" the message at any moment, and it will be permanently removed from the chat, according to the WaBetaInfo article.
So what do you think of this updating feature by WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta? Do you want a feature like this on Instagram and Facebook as well?
3. LastPass is hacked.
Did you use LastPass? And do you want to know what happened recently? LastPass is a third-party app that, with your permission, will manage the passwords for all of your accounts, whether they are social or official. The advantage of using this app is that you don't have to remember different passwords for each account, and the passwords are extremely secure.
I used it, but it will be very difficult to login with different devices if you haven't installed LastPass in them because passwords are difficult to remember and they change after a set time, so on one side it is very secure but leaking and hacking can affect your life in a very difficult way, so before using it, consider whether it will be beneficial or that it will make your password more vulnerable?
LastPass, which has over 33 million registered users, is now being sued in a class action complaint for failing to prevent a significant breach last year. While the password manager software appeared to minimise the scope of the hack at first, LastPass disclosed in December last year that the breach potentially exposed the data of 25 million users.
The action, filed anonymously this week in US District Court in Massachusetts, claims that the period between the attack and this notification allowed bad actors to fully use the stolen data. It also requests that the corporation pay damages, although the amount requested is unknown at this time.
"By gaining access to Plaintiff's and Class Members' private information, hackers can simply unlock the stolen vaults using the victims' respective master passwords, which were likely stored by LastPass and eventually accessed by the bad actors, and wreak financial havoc on the lives of LastPass users like Plaintiff," the lawsuit claims.
Launch after launch
1. Acer Swift 14 at the CES 2023.
I've used one of my friend's acer laptops; I don't remember the exact name of the laptop, but acer also provides good packages at a reasonable price, and my friend was able to buy it during the BBD sale, so it was a great deal for her.
Have you bought anything in Flipkart's BBD sale in 2022? If yes, then please share it in the comment section below this blog page.
At CES 2023, Acer unveiled the new Swift 14 laptop, which includes a gorgeous dual-tone design and powerful Intel 13th-generation CPUs. It also represents a shift in the company's naming standards.
It no longer has numbered levels like Swift 3, 5, or 7, but that doesn't imply Swift 14 is drastically different. It is the successor to Swift 5 and draws heavily from it in terms of design. However, it offers much greater performance.
Given that the Swift 5 was already one of the greatest Acer laptops available, the new Swift 14 is even more intriguing.
If you want to learn more about it, I've compiled a list of everything you need to know before purchasing one. So comment in the comment section and I will mention it there and only there.
2. The Oneplus Pad may launch soon.
What do you think of Oneplus as a brand name for an Android device? And if you have a different opinion, please write a review about it because I believe in Android smartphones and One Plus is a strong competitor to Google smartphones; perhaps One Plus has surpassed that as well?
I have used some Oneplus smartphones from friends because I am not wealthy enough to try each and every smartphone and make a review of that, but I have a large group of friends, so based on our experiences, I can tell you that Oneplus is a trusted brand for Android users.
And now OnePlus is coming with a tablet, which may be named the Oneplus Pad and is said to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 CPU. It is expected to have a 12.4-inch full HD+ OLED screen. The gadget is believed to include an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats.
The tablet might have 6 GB of RAM. It may have an internal storage capacity of up to 128 GB. The OnePlus Pad will include a dual camera on the back. A 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP secondary sensor might be used in the camera arrangement.
A 10,090 mAh battery is expected to power the next OnePlus Pad. It might have 45-watt quick charging technology. In my opinion, carrying a 10000 mah battery with a 45 watt charger will be a good package for this battery, and with optimization of the Oneplus battery backup, it will be surprising good, and the 45 watt charger will be the cherry on top for this device.
According to previous reports, the tablet may cost more than INR 30,000, but if it is launched in India, it may start at INR 35,000, so if you are looking to buy a tablet and are a fan of Oneplus smartphones, be patient and wait for the device to be released.
3. The Xiaomi 13 Pro will also be released soon.
This brand's Redmi series Xiaomi is somehow able to deliver a perfect pack at a reasonable price, which makes us wonder how they can deliver such specifications at that price. Xiaomi's POCO series is primarily aimed at gamers at all price points. and the Xiaomi Mi Series of smartphones is very well designed and perfectly suited for those who want sleek design and advanced performance.
and I used all three sub-brands, and in my opinion, I personally like all three sub-brands of Xiaomi, according to their price, which justifies it. Have you used any Xiaomi products? And what do you like the most about it? Please share your thoughts in the comments section.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro will be available in India shortly. Gadgets 360 has obtained exclusive information on the Xiaomi 13 Pro's India debut date as well as the company's plan for the first quarter of 2023. In December 2022, the Chinese tech giant debuted the Xiaomi 13 series in China. It is now preparing for the global debut of the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which is scheduled for March 2023.
Xiaomi is expected to announce its worldwide cooperation with Leica during the 2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC) before the global launch of its next flagship phones. Last year, the business worked with Leica to fine-tune the camera on the Xiaomi 12S series.
