Hello readers!
I'm back to share news and updates in the technical world, including devices that have been released or are on their way to release, and if you haven't read my previous blog where I discussed whether you can see Windows 12 this year or in 2024, click here to go there because I discussed the best Amazon offer.
And in the comment box, by commenting, let me know if you have bought a device or not, because the mega sale is on at Flipkart and Amazon, and if you have, then mention the device, especially because I will review your comment in this blog and maybe you will be the next topic in the next blog, and that makes it a multi-way communication.
So let's jump right into today's blog, because these news items were also manually chosen by me, and I have been adding memes to some articles; if you like the content, then why are you not sharing it? Also, please give me feedback about my new idea.
1. The Samsung Z-fold 5 may get a "water-drop" hinge.
You will ask, "What is a water drop hinge?" Seriously, I was curious as well, and this is an advancement in the design of Samsung's Fold series.
So, have you used z-flip or z-fold yet? If yes, what do you like the most? Which feature would you like to see updated, including hardware or software? Are you excited for the next smartphone in this series?
I first used this phone at the Reliance Digital Store, where I got first-hand experience, and I have seen many videos on YouTube about this phone. It is the device that will attract market attention because the battery and processor were insufficient for the price, and the company was taking money only for the design, but now they can provide heavy performance in the series' final smartphone.
So, in the upcoming Samsung event, which will be held in the next month of this year, they will unveil the S23 series, and we have seen all the handset rumors; it is possible they will also unveil the Z-Fold 5 series in this event only. So are you going to be in this series? Mention it in the comments section.
The new device will include a "droplet" hinge. If you're not familiar with the phrase, the "water drop" or "droplet" hinge design was originally presented in 2019, and it allows foldable screens to curve into the phone's hinge when closed, producing a water drop shape.
The advantage of this is that the display will have less of a crease and will be far less obvious when compared to Samsung's existing devices, which use a different type of hinge mechanism, dubbed the "U design" by some.
This has been a major issue in recent years, with several Asian smartphone competitors offering better smartphones with more flexible displays than Samsung, like Motorola, which shows a product named "Razor." Had you used a Motorola device? Mention your experience in the comment box.
While Samsung has delivered dependable gadgets, critics have accused the corporation of being on autopilot. Until now, many people assumed that Samsung didn't employ the "water drop" design because it couldn't acquire an IP classification for its products.
Yes, as I previously stated, the first phone was a very new idea at the time with new features, but when compared to today, that feature is also outdated, and I have seen many reviews where people are seeing cracks in between the screen after 2 months of normal folding and opening of a folding phone.
2. Apple micro-LED display in the iPhone, iPad, and Macbook
Yes, you can tell by the name Apple that they bring the feature to their device one or two years later, such as the notch feature, which they brought very late under the name "Dynamic Island," and then they got the craze, which Android is now attempting to copy.
By the way, do you remember when Android discovered the punch hole camera two years ago, but they hadn't gotten any ideas like Apple to use it in that area, but Apple made use of that also, and now the market is after that, and maybe you can see dynamic island in all phones in the Series 15?
Do you have an idea for a dynamic island? It is simply a feature that, in my opinion, should not be copied because the incomplete feature provided in budget phones makes them appear less valuable to counterfeiters and copycats. Include your thoughts in the comments section below.
Whereas, based on display, Apple has been using a liquid-retina display for their high-end device, and they are very much competing with Samsung's OLED display, but this time they may overtake it, and of course they will demand a high price from us as iPhone buyers, and even the outdated display that is used in budget iPads is also in demand because the brand name is "Apple."
The ultimate objective is to replace screens supplied by businesses such as Samsung, which has always had its own identity in the market for its screens, and LG, too. If you've seen displays from the aforementioned businesses, you'll know that their OLED technology is pretty good, giving brilliant colours and deep blacks compared to IPS or LCD screens in smartphones as well as TVs.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, microLED display technology will outperform OLED by providing brighter screens, greater colour reproduction, and wider viewing angles. He further claims that the "pictures appear to be painted on top of the device's glass."
This display is believed to be available in Apple's next Watch Ultra model, which is slated to be released next year. The screens, according to Gurman, will eventually be available in other Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and MacBook.
So the rumours are starting to circulate; are you excited? Are you waiting for the next iPhone 15? There are numerous rumours about the iPhone, and if you want, I can create a separate blog for the 15 series, as there are numerous rumors. You just have to leave a comment below for that.
3. Chrome data is extremely vulnerable.
As I said earlier, the pace at which we are advancing in science and technology is directly proportional to the vulnerability of our data, and companies are trying to give us security, but these hackers are also advancing and always finding a loophole in this big company's app.
We've seen many news stories about users' data being hacked, stolen, and sold on the dark web, and that data is stolen from Meta-owned WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. And, as we've seen many times before, Google has been hacked numerous times, but they've always provided an update, and this time is no exception.
Google Chrome is a popular web browser that is used by billions of people across the world. Imperva Red, a cyber security firm, discovered a hole in Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, putting the data of over 2.5 billion users in danger.
According to the business, this vulnerability, dubbed CVE-2022-3656, allows for the theft of critical information such as crypto wallets and cloud provider passwords.
This time they are hacking with symlinks, and if you don't know about this, read the whole blog because I will share how to be protective against them.
A symlink, also known as a symbolic link, is a sort of file that links to another file or directory, according to Imperva Red. It instructs the operating system to consider the linked file or directory as if it were located at the location of the symlink. According to the documentation, a symlink can be helpful for generating shortcuts, redirecting file paths, or arranging files in a more flexible manner.
However, if such linkages are not managed appropriately, they might be exploited to develop vulnerabilities.
It is identified by them, and they find the cure; you just have to update Chrome to its latest version to be protective in terms of data and all. According to Imperva Red, the vulnerability was reported to Google, and the issue was entirely addressed in Chrome 108. In order to guard against such vulnerabilities, users should constantly keep their software up to date.
4. Tencent fired 100 employees for the bribery case.
Tencent is always in the news because it is a large video game owner, and they always violate the rules of countries' laws and privacy. They have been banned, unbanned, and then banned again from their game, PUBG, which has the highest user count from India.
If you've read my blog before, you'll know that they were recently banned from the two countries mentioned in the United States for violating rules and regulations with other apps like TikTok and others.
They have only heard rumours about PUBG returning to India on January 15, but they have many issues to work out before they can launch PUBG in India.
Tencent, the Chinese software behemoth, announced Monday that it has fired over a hundred workers for breaking company standards, with some sent to the police and eventually found guilty of bribery and embezzlement.
The Hong Kong-listed business is the world's leading video game developer and the owner of the famous super-app WeChat, but it has struggled as a result of a major governmental assault on China's digital sector that began in late 2020.
The company, which reported its second straight quarterly sales fall in November, said in a statement that it had found more than 100 workers guilty of breaking its anti-fraud policy.
Do you want PUBGM or its recent name, BGMI, in India? I want it as well, but not at the risk of losing data, and all because safety comes first. But in reality, after PUBGM, I haven't played any game that gives me enjoyment and the best experience like this game because I've played COD and Apex Legend, which are better games compared to their availability, but PUBGM was the best.
Launch after launch
1. Motorola's new G-series smartphone
Every company is revealing their new phone offerings in the new year, so why should Motorola be left out? They are also preparing to unveil their new phone.
I also talked about this phone earlier, but those stories are now gossiping again, so I want to share them again, and if you read my blog every day, you should be aware of that.
Motorola may be planning the release of two new G-series devices, the Moto G53 5G and Moto G73 5G.
The Moto G53 5G was just announced in China by the company. This handset's worldwide model is likely to have different specs.
Now, allegedly leaked advertising materials and specifications for the Moto G53 5G and Moto G73 5G exist. The former Motorola smartphone is expected to have a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display, and the latter may have a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display.
Now, let's take a quick look at them individually, because their individual specifications have some leakage.
Moto G53 5G
Both phones will have nearly identical screens with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and their differences may range from 4 GB to 6 GB of RAM as well as up to 128 GB of storage. This device could have a dual-rear camera setup and be powered by a 5000-mAh battery with 10-watt support.
Moto G73 5G
Now we have the successor to that device, which will have some features that are superior to that phone. Starting with the screen, this will have the same screen with high pixel density inside, providing a great visual experience when viewing content.
It may be backed up by a MediaTek 930 SoC with variants of 6GB and 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of inbuilt storage, depending on its variant.
The battery will be the same at 5000 mah, but with 30 watts of charging support and a dual-rear camera setup at the back.
And I personally prefer devices with fewer cameras on the back because more cameras on the back make the device appear cheaper, and I prefer smartphones with fewer specifications but top-notch features, such as the iPhone or the Oneplus type.
Mention your thoughts. What do you expect from your smartphone? And which smartphone do you want to buy next, given your budget? in the comment box below.
So that from this side, don't forget to give feedback about today's blog and to share and follow if you like the content.
I will return tomorrow with more news and facts related to technology, and till then, keep smiling and be healthy.
