Galaxy Flip 7: Old Trick, New Obsession

Hello, I've been away for a while, but I wanted to write about this article since I read about the Galaxy Flip 7 or Fold 7 that is popular right now in India, where people are really interested in gadgets, technology, and everything.

Whereas in America, I’ve noticed that many people still use older iPhones. It seems they are not overly focused on constantly upgrading their devices but rather on developing themselves. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why they are already a developed nation, while we are still in the process of developing.

But let’s set that aside for now. I’m an electronics engineer and a huge fan of technology—especially electronics, devices, sensors, and all the components that make a smartphone work.

Please share your thoughts in the comments section about these devices and smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy: Innovation in Your Pocket

This Galaxy series began when I was in class 7 and used this device for the first time. They really worked on it, but they never changed the name. I'm not sure if it's an old Samsung Galaxy or our Galaxy, just a very low-quality joke.

When folding screen technology first emerged, it was incredibly fascinating to tech users, and I believe that everyone has used it up to this point. In my case, I used it first in a mall where phones were on display, and then a few of my relatives bought them as well, but I have never bought one yet, though I always plan to buy one eventually.

The flip-over fold's small size after flipping and its adorable display are just the icing on the cake. In contrast, flip technology also includes the newest model, the Motorola Ultra 60, which I believe can actually compete with this, but let's talk about Samsung for now.

Samsung’s Galaxy series has long been a symbol of cutting-edge technology, and the latest generation continues that legacy. Whether you’re a power user, a casual photographer, or a multitasker, there’s a Galaxy for you. Here’s a quick look at what makes it shine—and where it could still improve.

Three Standout Pros

1. Stunning Display Quality

Samsung is currently dominating the market in terms of display. You will be shocked to learn that the majority of Apple iPhone screens are also made by Samsung, so why wouldn't the company use its best screen in its best phone? At the very least, I was astounded to learn how the company can adapt to their marketing.

I have a Samsung S23 phone, and I am really happy with the screen alone. I have also used a Flip 7 in Reliance Digital, and it was just as good as the best, with no problems with brightness either inside or outside. That's where the Motorola Ultra 60 can be a little out of league if you have been using a Samsung flagship phone for a few years.

Samsung’s AMOLED panels remain the gold standard—offering deep blacks, vibrant colors, and smooth refresh rates that make everything from scrolling to streaming a visual treat.

2. Versatile Camera System

As of 2025, Galaxy has been enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI), hence the moniker "Galaxy with AI," and it truly produces outcomes.

Even though they use flagship hardware for the camera, their optimization is at an unprecedented level, and they use AI to make it exceptional, at least when compared to their own competitors' flip or foldable phones.

The S24 Ultra, the king of all photo-centric smartphones, has the same camera as the Fold phone, and the results are identical. In contrast, I would prefer the Ultra series for its camera alone, but this phone is also up to date.

Galaxy Z Flip 7

  • Rear Cameras:

    • 50 MP wide (OIS, Dual Pixel autofocus)

    • 12 MP ultra-wide (123° FOV)

  • Front (Selfie) Camera:

    • 10 MP, capable of recording up to 4K video

Galaxy Z Fold 7

  • Rear Cameras (Triple):

    • 200 MP wide-angle

    • 12 MP ultra-wide

    • 10 MP telephoto with 3× optical zoom

  • Front Cameras:

    • 10 MP under-display on the main screen

    • 10 MP cover-screen camera

From ultra-wide landscapes to crystal-clear zoom shots, Galaxy cameras pack AI enhancements that make mobile photography feel almost professional. Night mode and detail capture are especially impressive.

3. Long-Lasting Performance

According to what I understand, it can run any kind of game or app that is available on the Play Store, but yes, this phone isn't meant for heavy gamers. Instead, it's best suited for professionals because the processor performance is simply not on par with other phones in this market that have folding or flipping capabilities.

Galaxy Z Flip/Fold 7

  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (custom Galaxy edition)

  • Process: 4 nm fabrication

Powered by top-tier processors and optimized software, Samsung Galaxy devices handle heavy apps, gaming, and multitasking with ease—often lasting several years without feeling outdated.

Two Areas for Improvement

1. High Price Tag

This may be one of the biggest drawbacks, but these are marketing tactics, and Samsung is not my parents who will consider my best interests; rather, they are the biggest tech company and will always consider their own interests. The fact is straightforward and unflappable, and it will be advantageous for you to grasp it quickly.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 (India Prices)

  • 12 GB + 256 GB: ₹1,09,999

  • 12 GB + 512 GB: ₹1,21,999

Galaxy Z Fold 7 (India Prices)

  • 12 GB + 256 GB: ₹1,74,999

  • 12 GB + 512 GB: ₹1,86,999

  • 16 GB + 1 TB: ₹2,16,999

Premium Galaxy models can cost as much as a small laptop, putting them out of reach for many budget-conscious buyers.

2. Software Bloat

I won't say much about this because it's a topic that can differ from person to person, and there are always a few apps that someone uses but you don't.

While Samsung’s One UI is polished, it still comes preloaded with apps that some users never touch, taking up storage and cluttering menus.

Final Thoughts:

The Samsung Galaxy series remains one of the most reliable and feature-rich smartphone lines available. If you’re after a phone that blends performance, style, and innovation, it’s hard to go wrong—just be prepared to pay for the privilege and tidy up some unwanted apps.
